Google Blogger Sitemap

When you create a new blog with blogger it is added to Google Webmaster for Google search engine to crawl, but i recommend to add a site map as well. A sitemap is basically a file containing all the pages, images and links on your site. It purpose is to tell the search engines,  in this case Google, what pages, images or links you want it to crawl,  so that they will be easy available in the search result when someone do a search on a topic that your site is about.

Login Google Webmaster. Your site should already be there.

Click the icon or the link of your site in blue to add a sitemap
Then click Submit a Sitemap

To submit a Sitemap we are going to use the RSS feeds

You should also add this second one aswell to include up to 100 post
http://your_blogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=1&max-results=100

If you get between over a 100 to 200 post then add this as well.
 http://your_blogname.blogspot.com/atom.xml?redirect=false&start-index=101&max-results=100

This for 200 to 300.

You can also use the RSS 2.0: which is blogger default feed.

That's it you are done.

This is if your site was not added atomically or if you are going to use a different Google account.

If you're newly created blog doesn't appear on the Webmaster Tools home page, of the same Google account as your blog. Then follow our instruction on how to add a blog and verify by using Meta tag method on Google Webmaster Tools.

In Google Webmaster tool click ADD ASITE, enter the URL of a site you'd like to manage
Chose Alternate methods,

Chose Add a meta tag to your site's home page

Signing to your blog go Template Edited HTML, look for <head> and add the code after it.

and the verify your site back in Google Webmaster.
